Karma

I have a stubborn patient who only understands self-destructive ways of becoming stronger. Though there are so many words I would like to say to him, they will not come.

I've regretted being deaf. I don't want to regret being mute. Regret, after a certain amount of time, takes physical form.

I hope that this person will hear me before their recovery ends. Or there might be no end to it.

That's... impressive, but I have to say, I wish never to see one of you guys again.

And in your post, by self-destructive you meant... overworking?

Guilty~
I've suffered from patellar tendinitis since high school. I went through all non surgical treatment possible then but In college I became pro and the intense training - plus I'm known for overworking - made it worse. I ended up benched most tournament one year and my coach said I had to make a decision. I left volley for almost 2 years for surgery and recovery about 4 year ago.

It took a long time. I still use support and I'm always a little worried about it. I think my career won't last as long as I wish it would. I

Sometimes guys like that never learn... Even when the voice of experience tells them they're doing wrong they'll think they know better and the limits of their body till their body can't take any more.

You've done as much as you can do, if they don't listen then there's not much you can do. You've done your job.

Be careful of shouting too loud, Tezuka. The harder you push the more they resist.

People like that need to be shouted at sometimes. ^_^

Maybe if we had shouted at you, you wouldn't have gone off and hurt yourself.

Then you should find the right person.

The what makes you believe you can dissuade your patient?

If someone had done the same to you, would you have listened?

And you ignored him.

Are you seeing a pattern? ^_^

Try not to be disheartened when this person ignores you or even becomes angry for you getting involved in something that is none of your business, doctor or not.

Know your battles, Tezuka. Know when you push forward and when to back off.

I beg to differ, it is very much a battle. A battle of wills. Is his will to defy you greater than your will to assist him?
